Nintendo Switch – Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD

Description

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a remastered version of the 3DS classic, now available on Nintendo Switch since 27 June 2024. The game follows Luigi on his mission to restore the Dark Moon and return peace to Evershade Valley, exploring six mansions riddled with puzzles and ghosts. This high-definition edition includes notable visual improvements over the original version and runs smoothly at 60 fps in both handheld and TV modes, maintaining the essence of the original gameplay but with higher graphic quality. It integrates Funky Mode, which incorporates Funky Kong as a playable character with abilities such as double jump, hover, and invulnerability to spikes, ideal for players looking for a more accessible experience. The game supports up to four players in co-op mode in the ScareScraper tower, either locally or online, encouraging exploration and teamwork. Luigi designs his adventure using the Poltergust 5000 to capture ghosts, solve riddles, discover treasures, and overcome enemies in varied settings such as secret mines, gardens, and clock factories. One of the most attractive modes is the ScareScraper, where players face waves of ghosts with increasing challenges. The launch achieved immediate commercial success, topping sales charts in Japan and the UK during the first week, with 1.19 million copies sold in four days. It has been well received by critics, obtaining a score of 77/100 on Metacritic, thanks to its fidelity to the original and visual improvements—although some critics mention that it does not add substantial new content, it is still considered one of the best Nintendo remasters.
