Description
Indicaciones: Infecciones del aparato respiratorio superior e inferior producidas por S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae y para influenzae y B.catarrhalis. Aunque es eficaz en la erradicación de estreptococos de la orofaringe, no se dispone de datos que demuestren su eficacia en la prevención de la fiebre reumática. Infecciones de piel y tejidos blandos causados entre otros por S. aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella spp, B. fragilis, Enterobacter spp. Enfermedades de transmisión sexual, como infecciones genitales no complicadas producidas por C.trachomatis o por N.gonorrhoeae no multirresistentes ni concomitantes con T. pallidum. También es útil en el tratamiento del chancroide (producido por H.ducreyi). Profilaxis y tratamiento de la infección por el complejo Mycobacterium avium intracelular (MAC), sólo o en asociación con rifabutina.
