Indicaciones La atorvastatina está indicada en el tratamiento de las hipercolesterolemias y dislipemias mixtas, como accesorio de una dieta restringida en grasas saturadas y en colesterol, para reducir los niveles de colesterol total y triglicéridos. Contraindicaciones Está contraindicada la administración de atorvastatina durante el embarazo y la lactancia. Precauciones En pacientes con hepatopatía o que mantienen niveles elevados de las transaminasas debe ser controlada la función hepática, mediante test, durante el tratamiento, y ajustar la dosis de ser necesario. La insuficiencia renal no afecta las concentraciones de droga en plasma, por lo tanto no es necesario ajustar la dosis. Uso pediátrico:no hay mucha experiencia en el tratamiento con atorvastatina en niños, por lo que se recomienda restringir su uso.
